| Cigarette | Use water or milk to make the child vomit. If ingested within 2cm of a whole cigarette, make the child vomit and observe the child at home. DO NOT make the child vomit but go to a hospital immediately if the child drank the cigarette-butts liquid in which nicotine has been melted.It is more effective to use green tea instead of water or milk as green tea contains tannin which can slow down the absorption of nicotine. |
| Boric Acid (cockroach tablet) | Use water or milk tomake the child vomit and go to a hospitalwhen the child ingested cockroach tablet. If only licked the cockroach tablet, observe the child at home. When there is nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or rashes etc, go to a hospital. |
| Detergent | DO NOT make the child vomit but go to a hospital immediately if ingested the acidic or alkaline detergent (for toilet, drain pipe etc.). DO NOTmake the child vomit but wash the mouth, give water or milk, and then go to a hospital if ingested the weak acidic, neutral, or alkaline detergent (for kitchen, washing, diaper, or bathroom etc.). Water or milk can dilute the acidic, neutral, or alkaline detergent and weaken the poison. |
| Button Battery | DO NOT make the child vomit but go to a hospital immediately. Button batteries contain alkaline substances. It is dangerous having alkaline button battery within the body for a long time. It will be helpful if you bring a sample of the battery to hospital. |
| Thumbtack, safety pin etc. | DO NOT make the child vomit but go to a hospital immediately if ingested sharp substances like thumbtack, safety pin, or medicine wrappings etc. Making the child vomit may hurt the throat or esophagus. |
| Kerosene | DO NOT make the child vomit but goto a hospital immediately without drinking anything. |
