| The 9th SIDS international conference will be held on June 1-4 in Yokohama. Local and foreign specialists and the bereaved families etc. will be together to discuss many topics on Sudden Infant Death Syndrone (SIDS). The theme of the conference is “to protect small children and to support the bereaved families”. SIDS international conference has been held once every 2 years abroad, and this is the first time it is held in Japan. This conference has a wide range of programs, such as professional and scientific research, prevention, and supporting the bereaved family etc. This conference is sponsored by Nonprofit Organization (NPO) SIDS Family Association (Tokyo) and Japan SIDS Research Society. With the lowest infant mortality rate and a very low SIDS rate in the world, Japan has attracted much attention of the oversea researchers, and that brings this international conference to Japan.
